Our Academics

At Hidayatul Islam we deliver the full National Curriculum (CAPS) along with Religious Education (RE) and Personal and Social Wellbeing. It is our aim that every child develops their full potential and the curriculum is delivered with these aims in mind. Our planning ensures that pupils have a wide range of experiences that inform, excite and prepare them for the next stage of their schooling and which provide a foundation for lifelong learning.

Special educational needs

We have an excellent and proven record with our pupils who encounter some form of difficulty with their learning. We believe that the key to this is building a strong and trusting relationship with parents and professionals. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which people feel free to participate fully in school life. We make reasonable adjustments to make sure that the school environment is as accessible as possible.

Languages

We concentrate on letter formation and correct pencil grip. Educators are encouraged to stimulate learners imagination in order to put their ideas to paper.

Mathematics

Core skills are taught.

Educational visits

We are committed to providing out-of-school learning opportunities for our children. Educational visits enable us to take children’s learning onto a higher level and provide them with learning experiences that they will be telling their grandchildren about!  We also have a range of day trips we plan to support the curriculum,

Extra curricular

At Hidayatul Islam we are committed to creating unlimited opportunities for all our pupils. We provide a wealth of extra-curricular activities for children of all ages before, during and after school. We offer a diverse range that makes the most of our excellent resources and staff knowledge and expertise. Details of clubs on offer are sent out at the beginning of each term. All teachers run clubs in conjunction with our resident coach.

Physical Education

At Hidayatul Islam, we believe that outdoor learning is an important part of a good childhood and also important in raising standards within the school. We have embarked on a programme to develop exciting outdoor spaces that can be used throughout the school day. Teachers are able to use the grounds to integrate outdoor learning within their topic plans right across the curriculum.
